Recently on early April, ‘Digitalization Forum’ was held and hosted by Dongdeamun Future Foundation and Dongdaemun Fashion Town Tourism Zone.

Dongdaemun Market is a very large fashion market in Korea, but there are many places that are gradually getting lost due to changes in the times.

In particular, the lack of response to changes in the e-commerce-led distribution environment would be the biggest cause. Because of this, with lots of concerns, Dongdaemun Fashion Town Tourist Zone Committee signed a business agreement with OJWorld’s platform ‘Weegle’.

Weegle is a mobile messenger with Touchcommerce, QR pay, Live chat, mobile messenger shops(MyShop). My Shop owners can promote their product through T-commerce advertising.

The Weegle, which has long been persuading the Middle East Countries and the top banking system company, the Tosan Group, to enter the oversaes market, is expected to be a stepping stone for the Dongdaemun Fashion Town to enter the global market.

Also, OJ World’s platform Weegle is planning to link the mobile gift certificate of  Cube Chain, and the platform of the payment gateway for Dongdaemun market’s global step and sales increase. This will make the token economy of Cube Chain more active.

Since Dongdaemun will be organizing a group of platform professionals and companies to construct Dongdaemun Fashion platform and will put all their efforts on reactivating the market, it seems we can have positive expectations on future of Cube Chain and Weegle, right? .

“This year, we are preparing an event linked with global online market. It is for expansion of global sales route. For this, we need Dongdaemun Fashion platform.”

Mr. Park JoongHyun, chairman of Dongdaemun Fashion Town Tourism Zone Council, said “For the change, construction of innovative online platform is necessary” and “the positive funding from Korean government and local government is a pressing need”.

Recently, ‘Digitalization Forum’ was held and hosted by Dongdaemun Future Foundation and Dongdaemun Fashion Town Tourism Zone Council.

At the forum, Chairman Park said “the number of stores which are closing is increasing” and “this is because shopping centers’ downturn is continuing due to lack of preparation for sales environment change caused by E-commerce, increase of imported products caused by increase of prime production cost, decrease of tourist, and so on”.

According to Dongdaemun Fashion Town Tourism Zone Council, Dongdaemun market is experiencing a business slump due to rapid decrease of offline customers and tourists. Number of vacant stores is over 7,000 now.  

OJWorld which signed an MOU with Dongdaemun stated that they are planning to link OJWorld’s platform ‘Weegle’, mobile gift certificate of Cube Chain, and the platform of payment gateway for Dongdaemun Fashion market’s global step and sales increase.

Chairman Park said, “we will organize a group of platform professionals and companies to construct Dongdaemun Fashion platform” and “we will put all our efforts on reactivating the market”. He also added “we will make the announcement on the related subject as soon as possible”.
